Role – Planning Engineer

Based – Woolpit

Hours – 37.5

£24,189 annual salary

Have a working knowledge of company CAD and GIS systems and well as experience migrating networks.

Reporting to the GIS (Lead) or Design Manager the Planning Engineer (Importing) will initially be responsible for carrying out Gas in Flats network migrations, working closely with both the Design Team and the GIF Technical Audit Team. They should also provide multi utility design and technical support to the business and its partners and assist in the maintenance of Company records.

Upon completion of GIF network migration project (Approx 2 ½ years) further migration project scope may be agreed. In addition, the Planning Engineer will be expected to take on additional Design responsibilities within the scope of that expected of a Multi Utility Planning Engineer.

Qualifications/Experience

The incumbents should:

  • Have or be working towards membership with a recognised engineering institution at Technician grade or equivalent and maintain a competence portfolio of own skills, training and experience.
  • Be familiar with current Legislation, Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to relevant utility Distribution Systems and be aware of the implications to the safe management of the flow of gas of the laid down procedures.
